The healing properties of some springs in Truskavets were known to the local population at the end of the 18th century. Currently, it is one of the most famous health resorts in the world.

The health resorts in Truskavets  became a fashionable destination at the end of the 19th century. The rich came to this town, mainly from Lviv or the nearby centres of the oil industry  Drohobych or Boryslav. It was also popular with people living in the capital of Poland. The patients spent their free time walking in the spa park as well as in Pomiarki, where there were crude oil and earth wax mines.
